A Radio/Television/Film senior and film set addict, Shane Chung is obsessed with imagemaking in all forms. He is directing his first film next year as a part of the Advanced Directing Sequence and is excited to explore a modality of filmmaking other than narrative with this program. As a Korean-American filmmaker, he is passionate about uplifting unique multicultural voices in film, a mission he pursued as a Publicity Chair on Northwestern University’s Multicultural Filmmaker’s Collective board, and later as a board member on Studio 22. He champions diversity, inclusion, and wackiness and hopes to further that mission on an industry level. As part of the Pritzker Pucker Studio Lab, he hopes to reclaim portrayals of obsessive-compulsive disorder from mainstream stereotyping by highlighting the many forms mental illness can take. In his free time, Shane enjoys activities such as eating food.
