Petra Popper-Freedman

Petra is a junior at Northwestern with a Radio/Television/Film major and Music Technology minor. She is involved in multiple comedy organizations at Northwestern, including musical improv group The Bix and Northwestern Sketch Television. As the head writer of the on-campus late night show The Blackout, Petra directed a short that was accepted into the New York City Short Comedy Film Festival. She also has a residency as a standup comic at The Broadway Comedy Club and The Greenwich Village Comedy Club in New York City. Petra is interested in using comedy in her work to explore serious subject matter like mental health and to make the uncomfortable accessible through humor.
