Johnaé Strong is a first year Doc Media MFA student. She graduated from the University of Chicago with a BA in International Studies and an MA in Urban Education. On campus, Johnaé is the co-founder of the Black Creative Collective, a graduate student organization creating space to engage and collaborate within different forms of media related to peoples of African descent. Johnaé is passionate about recounting the transformative process of trauma. Through the Pritzker Pucker Studio Lab, she hopes to learn more and uncover new ways to cast marginalized people in living with mental illness.
