Johanna G. Singhal is an experimental filmmaker, artist, and writer majoring in Communication Studies with minors in Film & Media Studies and Sociology. Though her first love is documentary, she’s thrilled to expand and complicate her approach through the Pritzker-Pucker program. Her project explores “invisible illness” communities (like Morgellon’s and chronic Lyme), navigating collective pain, and how we communicate the incommunicable. Her favorite filmmakers are Agnes Varda, James Benning, Angela Schanelec, and Tsai Ming-Liang. She hopes to practice their attention to fleeting moments of beauty and care.
