Andrew Kline (he/him/his) is a junior at Northwestern majoring in Radio/Television/Film, and planning to declare a double major in Economics this winter. He is so excited to be a part of the Pritzker Pucker Studio Lab Program and to direct his short Voicemails to My Son, a story about a boy coming into his own agency and reconciling his relationship with his father amidst a thicket of familial restructuring, miscommunication, and mental health conflicts. Andrew is interested in how mental health portrayals intersect with familial and paternal relationships, queerness, political, and bioethical dimensions. Additionally, he is eager to learn more about what responsibilities directors have to cast members, crew members, audience members, and their own selves when telling stories with heavy subject matters. He is enthusiastic about the Pritzker Pucker Program’s interdisciplinary focus, and can’t wait to critically reflect about mental health portrayals within the media.
